Magical Writing Magical Inks~April 27th 11-3 PM

Join us for a workshop exploring magical writing with handmade symbolic inks. During the class, we will craft a variety of natural plant-based inks and experiment with using them to write personal intention-setting spells.  Learn about the mystical connection between botany, healing, and color as you make and write with your own inks. No prior experience needed. Snacks, tea, and wine provided. Please wear clothing that you do not mind getting stained or bring an apron. Workshop Price (including materials): $65

Instructor Bios:

Coleman Stevenson is an illustrator, writer, tarot practitioner, and educator based in Portland, OR. She is the artist behind the Dark Exact Tarot Deck and the author of Breakfast: 43 Poems and The Accidental Rarefication of Pattern #5609. Her poems have appeared in a variety of publications such as Paper Darts, Seattle Review, Gramma, E-ratio, Louisiana Literature, Mid-American Review, and the anthology Motionless from the Iron Bridge. and her visual work has been shown in galleries around the Pacific Northwest, including her most recent series of channeled drawings, House Spirits, at T Project in April.

Annin Barrett is the co-founder of Portland Textile Month, and loves all things related to textiles.   She has a M.F.A. in Fibers, and serves on the editorial staff of Textile: Cloth and Culture where her interests in text and textiles converge.  As an artist, teacher, designer and advocate for learning by doing, she brings her extensive knowledge of natural dyes to making ink from plants.  Creating color is her favorite form of alchemy.
