Spring Sachiko Purse Workshop

Spend the afternoon learning the meditative art of hand sewing with OCAC instructor Judilee Fitzhugh. While sipping premium teas in the peaceful T Project space, you’ll learn the rhythmic dance of the needle and thread as we construct and embroider a small drawstring purse. Judilee will bring her suitcase of tricks and threads along with some of her own hand-dyed indigo scraps for us to work with and create "sachiko" purses. Everyone will go home with their project and new ideas for other slow stitch projects. Tea, light snack & materials $60.00, May 27th, 1:00-4:30 pm

Talented, patient and fun to talk with, Judilee Fitzhugh is a local textile artist specializing in the art of natural dye processes. She combines an innovative interpretation of traditional methods, handwoven and surface design techniques and couture construction details to create a line of wearable garments, accessories and original art pieces that portray a single moment in history.
